Custom fields: linking to an expense rule

Expensya gives you the possibility to go one step further into your company’s functionality configuration. 

You already have the option of linking a custom field to a category; now it is also possible to link a custom field to a spending policy.  

This link is used to define the spend policy’s settings display when the value of the field is selected. 

Once the custom field and spend policy are created, the administrator needs to: 


  1. Go to the “Administration” tab, under the “Expenses and requests” menu, and then to the “Spending policies” section. 
  2. Click on the expense policy already created. 

  1. Go to the bottom of the page to the business or personalised field configuration. 
  2. Choose “custom field” as an option then select the field for which this link will be configured. 

  1. All that remains is to choose the value of the field. Finally, save the changes.
